What the range actually contains

Domo — Domo-kun — is a Japanese broadcasting mascot rendered as a brown box with a permanently open, jagged mouth. The plush is a rectangle, which makes it one of the few character plush where the shape itself is the joke.

The mouth interior is the build detail: a separate red or black lining panel looks right, while a printed mouth flattens the whole design.

Gift notes

  • A good gift for someone with an interest in Japanese pop culture specifically.
  • The flat body makes it a stable desk or monitor-top piece.
  • Keychain sizes are the easy, low-commitment version.

Care & washing

Full care guides
  • Spot clean the mouth lining rather than soaking it.
  • Cold hand wash the body; air dry standing so the box shape holds.
  • Do not tumble dry — the rectangular shape distorts permanently.

Domo plush questions

What is Domo?

The mascot of Japanese broadcaster NHK, introduced in the late 1990s as a stop-motion character. The plush is a faithful brown box shape.

Why is the mouth always open?

It is the character's fixed design. A well-made plush uses a separate lining panel inside the mouth rather than printed fabric.

Are large Domo plush available?

Mostly through import channels. Standard Western retail carries the small and keychain sizes.
